Getting lost together in the wild and rugged mountains of Tasmania.
When Vaia and Jonathan contacted me to help organise their elopement somewhere near Hobart, I knew it had to be Hartz Mountain! It's only a 1.5 hour drive from the city and overlooks Tasmania's spectacular south-west mountain ranges and is part of Tasmania's World Heritage Area. With a delicious mix of dolerite rock, glacial lakes, waterfalls, trails and hikes we are spoilt for choice on places to have a commitment ceremony and my favorite... epic photos to tell the tale of your love story!
We chose Lake Osborne as it's only a short 20 minute trek through easy terrain, forest and then wild mountains lead a dramatic landscape to the lake where a quick I do will saw them married amongst the King Billy Pines, lapping of water against the rocks and the wild call of the mountain currawong.
It didn't matter what the weather turned out for us, Vaia and Jonathan were prepared to embrace the storm that threatened the skies all morning and elope in the beauty of our Tasmanian landscape. Through wind, rain and mist we captured their story and it's one I'll never forget, especially as Hartz Mountain is my backyard!
